We use our own Kilns
By using our own kilns you can ensure you're getting excellent produce and caring for the environment at the same time.
All of our logs are Kiln Dried to under 20% Moisture rating under Woodsure Guidelines meaning they are better for the environment and better for you.
Kiln Dried logs are much more efficient - you get more heat per log when they're dry and are much better for your stove.
Supporting British Forestry
Lots of firewood companies import wood from other countries 000s of miles away, which contributes to environmental issues like carbon miles and deforestation. By choosing Logpile Local, you can be assured that your logs have all been sourced within the UK, as close to our site as possible. Most of our firewood is sourced from within South Downs National Park and is only felled as part of woodland management schemes.
We are located on the Blackmoor Estate
The Estate has been involved in a number of Countryside Stewardship Schemes for many years. These conservation schemes have encompassed a wide range of environmental projects to encourage biodiversity and foremost amongst them have been:
- The restoration and creation of heathland and dry acid grassland.
- The creation of species-rich chalk grassland to form a corridor between Noar Hill and Selborne Common Nature Reserves
